Your Baking Steel arrives pre-seasoned, but for maintenance, apply a thin layer of organic flaxseed or grapeseed oil and bake at 400°F for one hour to maintain its non-stick surface.

Yes, the Baking Steel is incredibly versatile. It can be used in the oven, on gas or electric stovetops, and on outdoor grills to create a perfect sear.

What is the difference between a Baking Steel and a pizza stone?

Steel conducts heat much faster than stone, leading to a more consistent rise and crispier crust. It is also virtually indestructible and will not crack like traditional ceramic stones.
